The Stranger Downstairs is the story of a woman named Sasha who wakes up one morning in a room she doesn’t recognize. She sees a few of her things around her, but nothing about the building or the view from the window is familiar. After a panicked phone call to her father, she discovers that she has lost over a year of her memory. The house she is in is her home, and the stranger downstairs in the kitchen is her husband. As she begins to piece together the details of the time she is missing, she discovers that her marriage is not what it seems. Her memory loss is not the product of mere coincidence, and her husband is a covert government agent, assigned to investigate the U.S. branch of a South American rebel movement whose nerve center is far closer to Sasha herself than she ever imagined.
